Chinese is easier to learn than English

Posted on 2017-07-122021-10-12 By admin

There has always been a saying on the Internet: Among the ten most difficult languages in the world announced by the United Nations, Chinese ranks first!

In fact, the United Nations has never published any similar lists, and this statement is also untenable. Compared with various unpopular and rare languages, Chinese is really simple and easy to learn. Even when compared with English, the difficulty of learning Chinese is not that high.

To give a simple example, in terms of quantifiers and their derivatives, Chinese is very simple, such as:第一,第二,第三、星期一,星期二,星期三、一月,二月,三月( first, second, third, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, January, February, and March.) Learn a little bit Can be mastered. This is not the case in English. You need to memorize each of the following words by rote in order to cope, such as:

January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saterday, Sunday.

From this point of view, English is more difficult to remember than Chinese.Chinese is easier to learn than English.

It is often felt that Chinese is more difficult to write than English. Many of the more complex glyphs, such as the word“打喷嚏”嚏 , may not be correct even for undergraduate students. Sneeze in English is very simple-sneeze, you can write at a glance.

But the question is, is it fair to use the more difficult words in Chinese to correspond to the simpler words in English? There are also words that are difficult to write in English. For example, the word “矽肺病” looks like this in English:
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis-how many Americans and British can write?

For another example, there is a chemical substance called “肌联蛋白 titin” in biology, which is composed of 267 kinds of amino acids. According to the English word-making rules, the full version of this English word has 189,819 letters. Just read it. It takes 3 hours to write it down even more difficult.
